Day 1: Flight to the Lofoten Islands

International flight – 1 hour transfer – Overnight in hotel, rorbu or shared accommodation

Departing from France, we land at Narvik airport. Within an hour, we reach our accommodation for this first night. A good night’s sleep will allow us to rest up before the start of this unique and exotic trek!

Day 2: Head for Svolvær, capital of the Lofoten Islands

3 hours drive – 3 hours walk – Overnight in hotel, rorbu or collective accommodation – D+ 500 m / D- 500 m

We begin our crossing of the Lofoten Islands, heading for Svolvær, capital of the Lofoten Islands. On the way, we take our first hike, along the magnificent Moysalen massif. At the end of the day, we discover Svolvær and its pretty harbor.

Day 3: Stamsund harbour

3 hours drive – 5 hours walk – Overnight in hotel, rorbu or collective accommodation – D+ 850 m / D- 850 m

Today we’re heading for the island of Vestvågøya and the magnificent summit of Steinetind. This loop hike above the small port of Stamsund will allow you to appreciate all the richness of the Norwegian landscape. You’ll follow a sometimes aerial trail that offers breathtaking views of the Vestfjord!

Finally, we head for Reine, the emblematic fishing port on the island of Moskenesøya. Here we’ll set down our gear for the next few nights.

Day 4: Hiking between sea and mountains

40 minutes drive – 5 hours walk – Overnight in hotel, rorbu or collective accommodation – D+ 750 m / D- 750 m

The day’s program is sure to motivate you! We head due north towards Kvalvika Bay (which means “Whale Bay” in Norwegian) to hike facing the majestic Norwegian Sea. After discovering the bay, we climb to the summit of Ryten, at 543 m, to enjoy the panoramic views.

Last but not least, we’ll be delighted to welcome Reine back to our comfortable home for another evening of sharing!

Day 5: Breathtaking view of Moskenesøya island

20 minutes drive – 7 hours 30 walking – Overnight in hotel, rorbu or collective accommodation – D+ 1100 m / D- 1100 m

The most emblematic hike of this exceptional trip is just around the corner! You’ll set off to conquer the summit of Munkan (775m), which offers the most spectacular views of the island of Moskenesøya. You’ll see lakes, fjords, fishing villages and mountains.

Day 6: Narvtinden summit

30 minutes drive – 4 hours 30 walking – Overnight in hotel, rorbu or collective accommodation – D+ 900 m / D- 900 m

Narvtinden is your goal for the day! After a fine ascent, this summit offers a breathtaking view over the heights of Selfjord and Lake Solbjornvatnet.

Your day will end as the previous ones have: a magical walk back to your accommodation.

Day 7: Flakstadøya island and the summit of Tønsåsheia

50 minutes drive – 5 hours 30 walking – Overnight in hotel, rorbu or collective accommodation – D+: 1300 m / D-: 2000 m

The transfer to Nusfjord will give you a different perspective on the landscape. Once you’ve reached your destination, you’ll set off on a beautiful loop hike around the island of Flakstadøya and its magical landscapes. You’ll then climb Tønsåsheia before returning via a sublime balcony path over the famous Vestfjord.

On the eve of your departure, you’ll set off for Leknes, an old fishing village on the island of Vestvågøy, where you’ll spend the evening and night.

Day 8: Return to France

5 hours drive

An early departure for Narvik will give you one last chance to contemplate the spectacular scenery of Lofoten. You’ll return to France with unforgettable memories!

  • the contract number and telephone number of the assistance center

Beware of restrictive clauses in certain insurance policies (particularly those linked to Visa Premier, Gold or other cards), such as mountain insurance limited to snow activities, or altitude sickness not recognized as an illness requiring repatriation, which will be refused.

The Lofoten Islands enjoy permanent sunshine from mid-May to mid-July. The Gulf Stream keeps the Lofoten coasts warm, but it can still be cold, especially in wet weather. Good protective clothing is a must.

We strongly recommend that you are up to date with the usual vaccinations: diphtheria-tetanus-poliomyelitis, whooping cough, tuberculosis, typhoid fever, hepatitis A and B.

We use local rental vehicles, minibuses or cars. Your tour leader will be your driver. However, one of you may be asked to drive a car when no minibus is available for hire.

The stay

MEALS

Breakfasts and dinners are mostly taken at the accommodation and prepared with care by your guide. Lunch will consist of a picnic packed in each participant’s bag. The picnic will be prepared by your guide.

ACCOMMODATION

Traditional accommodation on the Lofoten Islands is called rorbus. Ce sont des petites cabanes de pêcheurs louées à la basse saison de la pêche.

Watse offers you the chance to sleep in some of the most comfortable accommodations available. However, to ensure maximum comfort, especially with a double room system, we will also use hotels or hostels. However, given how busy the islands are, it may be possible to sleep in shared accommodation if certain lodgings are unavailable.
