About the Le Beaufortain snowshoeing holiday
Welcome to the Beaufortain! This mountain range in the heart of the Alps straddles the departments of Savoie and Haute Savoie. Enjoy the comfort of your hotel every evening to recharge your batteries for the next day.
Nature lovers will be delighted by this region, with its multitude of trails through beautiful mountain pastures, traditional villages and splendid forests, facing magnificent peaks. The region is ideal for snowshoeing, thanks to the abundance of snow in winter.

Day 1: Arrival in Beaufort s/ Doron
3 hours snowshoeing – Overnight at hotel – D+ 150 m / D- 150 m
At the end of the morning, we meet at the Albertville SNCF train station to get to know each other and discuss the days ahead. Our guide transfers us to Beaufort sur Doron and we set off on our first snowshoe hike to test and learn about avalanche transceivers.
At the end of the day, we discover the comfort of our charming hotel, which will welcome us for five nights.
Day 2: Le Cormet de Roselend
6 hours snowshoeing – Overnight at hotel – D+ 500m / D- 500m
This morning, we hit the snow on snowshoes, heading for the Col du Pré, which offers a sumptuous view of the turquoise waters of the Cormet de Roselend below.
Return to hotel.
Day 3: Lake Saint Guerin
You’ll appreciate the wild side of the Lac de Saint Guerin we’re discovering today. The lake takes its name from the patron saint of shepherds, in connection with the many surrounding mountain pastures. Lac de Saint Guerin is also famous for its Himalayan footbridge, from which you can see the Aravis mountains and the Pointe Percée.
Return to hotel.
Day 4: Alpine pastures and forests of Lake Clou
6 hours snowshoeing – Overnight at hotel – D+ 600m / D- 600m
The scenery changes to alpine meadows and forests, with the Mont Blanc massif and the recognizable Pierra Menta peak in the background.
Return to hotel.
Day 5: Lac de la Girotte
7 hours snowshoeing – D+ 700m / D- 700m – 6h
Today we’re hiking towards the turquoise-eyed pearl of the Hauteluce commune: Lac de la Girotte. Once of natural origin, this site was dammed in the early 1940s, doubling its capacity.

Send us your registration with a copy of your passport, your postal address, telephone number and e-mail address, together with a deposit of 30% of the cost of the trip.

ASSISTANCE AND SAFETY
We strongly advise you to take out assistance insurance for the duration of your trip.
We offer two different types of insurance: Comfort Cancellation and Comfort Multirisk, to be taken out when you register for your trip.

Other offers include Mondial Assistance, your own insurance company or Club Alpin Français. Check that your trekking activity is covered.
Make sure your insurance covers all medical expenses in the event of an accident.
You must make sure that you are covered for mountain rescue costs. If this is the case, you must provide us with the following information before you set off on your trek:
- a certificate from the insurance company covering mountain rescue costs.
- the contract number and telephone number of the assistance center
Beware of restrictive clauses in certain insurance policies (particularly those linked to Visa Premier, Gold or other cards), such as mountain insurance limited to snow activities, or altitude sickness not recognized as an illness requiring repatriation, which will be refused.
Please check the actual content of your insurance and take the necessary steps if necessary.
Health & climate
CLIMATE
Summer and winter alike, temperatures in the mountains vary with altitude, and the way they feel can be greatly affected by the intensity of the wind.
HEALTH AND VACCINES
No vaccinations required. We strongly recommend that you keep up to date with the usual vaccinations: diphtheria-tetanus-poliomyelitis, whooping cough, tuberculosis, typhoid fever, hepatitis A and B. We recommend that you have a check-up with your dentist before you leave.
Transport and conditions
Meet at the hotel in Beaufort s/ Doron late morning on the first day.
Transport to and from Chamonix is not included in the price. Car pooling to and from Chamonix available on request.
Daily transfers by private vehicle to hike starting points.
LUGGAGE
Your luggage is returned to the hotel each evening.

Picnics at lunchtime, prepared by us. Morning and evening meals are taken at the hotel.
Snacks are provided, but you’re welcome to bring your own.
Please let us know as soon as possible if you have a special diet.
ACCOMMODATION
5 nights in a 4-star hotel in Beaufort s/ Doron, in a double or twin room (single room supplement on request).
TRAINING
Supervision by a state-certified mountain guide, for a maximum of 8 people.
