About the Beaufortain snowshoe weekend
Discover the Beaufortain Massif on this introductory snowshoeing trip in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
You’ll set down your rucksack for the night in the newly-built “Le Nant du Beurre” refuge, equipped with all the necessary comforts. Situated in the heart of a unique panorama, you’ll be able to admire the peaks of La Vanoise and the Ecrins massif during two days of snowshoeing.

Day 1: Grand Nâves - Refuge Nat du Beurre
As the first day gets underway, we’ll meet you at 11 a.m. in Grand Nâves, which will be the starting point for your incredible weekend. We’ll then take the free shuttle bus up to the Tovet Nordic ski resort.
Once equipped, we begin our hike in a wild and grandiose setting before arriving in the afternoon at the Nant du Beurre refuge at 2080 m altitude.
Day 2: Refuge Nant du Beurre - Col des Tufs Blancs - Grand Crétet
After a sunrise over the Beaufortain massif, we return to the Col des Tufs Blancs, a magnificent off-the-beaten-track spot with isolated chalets. We’ll then reach the summit of Grand Crétet, where you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of Grand Mont, Crêt du Rey…
In the late afternoon, you’ll return to your starting point in Grand Nâves after a fabulous stay.

ASSISTANCE AND SAFETY
We strongly advise you to take out assistance insurance for the duration of your trip.
We offer two different types of insurance: Comfort Cancellation and Comfort Multirisk, to be taken out when you register for your trip.

Other offers include Mondial Assistance, your own insurance company or Club Alpin Français. Check that your trekking activity is covered.
Make sure your insurance covers all medical expenses in the event of an accident.
You must make sure that you are covered for mountain rescue costs. If this is the case, you must provide us with the following information before you set off on your trek:
- a certificate from the insurance company covering mountain rescue costs.
- the contract number and telephone number of the assistance center
Beware of restrictive clauses in certain insurance policies (particularly those linked to Visa Premier, Gold or other cards), such as mountain insurance limited to snow activities, or altitude sickness not recognized as an illness requiring repatriation, which will be refused.
Please check the actual content of your insurance and take the necessary steps if necessary.

CLIMATE
Summer and winter alike, temperatures in the mountains vary with altitude, and the way they feel can be greatly affected by the intensity of the wind.
HEALTH AND VACCINES
No vaccinations required.
We strongly recommend that you are up to date with the usual vaccinations: diphtheria-tetanus-poliomyelitis, whooping cough, tuberculosis, typhoid fever, hepatitis A and B.
We recommend that you have a check-up with your dentist before you leave.

Meet at 11am in Grand Nâves, which will be the starting point for your weekend. We’ll then take the free shuttle bus up to the Tovet Nordic ski resort.

The stay
MEALS
Evening and morning meals are taken at the refuge.
You’ll need to bring your own picnic lunch. The second day’s picnic will be provided by the refuge. If you have a special diet, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can inform the refuge.
You can also bring your favorite snacks.
ACCOMMODATION
You’ll stay in a mountain refuge for one night, in a collective dormitory with half-board.
TRAINING
Supervision by a state-qualified French mountain leader.
