The Oetztal, nicknamed the “Valley of the Millionaires”, combines all the advantages of a rich and varied hiking holiday.

Day 1: Meeting in Niederthai
Night in a family inn
We meet in the small village of Niederthai. Your tour leader will meet you in the evening for a first meeting and briefing on the trip ahead.
Day 2: Narrengogl summit
5 hours’ walk – Picnic – Overnight in a family inn – D+: 820 m / D-: 820 m
Departure from Niederthai on foot towards Narrengogl (2310 m). This is our first warm-up, starting on a trail with magnificent views.
Depending on the shape of the group, you can continue on to Hühnerkogl and loop back to Niederthai to make the most of the Austrian landscape.
Day 3: Wäckelwarte assault
15 minutes drive – 6 hours walk – Picnic – Overnight in a family inn – D+: 1000 m / D-: 1000 m
From the plain, climb to the Wäckelwarte lookout (2097 m) above Längenfeld.
Then the beautiful forest trail takes you to a unique lookout point. A loop back to Wäckelwarte brings the day to a close.
Day 4: To Lake Soomsee
40 minutes’ drive – 6 hours’ walk – Picnic – Overnight in a family-run inn – D+: 800 m / D-: 800 m
You’ll take the road to the Obergurgl resort, from where you’ll take the beautiful path up to the Soomsee lake (2580 m), facing the snow-capped peaks of the Tyrol. The view is breathtaking!
The chamois, inhabitants of these wild places, watch you from afar. Keep your eyes peeled! To return to Obergurgl, take the green path.
Day 5: To Finstertalalm
20 minutes’ drive – 6 hours’ walk – Picnic – Overnight in a family-run inn – D+: 700 m / D-: 700 m
Today you’ll discover the end of the Horlach valley. From Niederthai, you’ll follow the river before climbing towards Finstertalalm (2142 m).
Depending on the shape of the group, you can take this joy a step further and complete a loop back to the starting point.
Day 6: Ascent to 3000m: Wildes Mannle
40 minutes’ drive – 7 hours’ walk – Picnic – Overnight in a family inn – D+: 1000 m / D-: 1000 m
From the small resort of Vent, you’ll climb towards the Wildes Mannle (3019 m), a characteristic peak of this beautiful valley, very close to the glaciers.
Incidentally, it was in this area that Ötzi, a mummy remarkably preserved in the ice, was discovered.
Return to the starting point along the same magnificent trail.
Day 7: Return to France

ASSISTANCE AND SAFETY
We strongly advise you to take out assistance insurance for the duration of your trip.
We offer two different types of insurance: Comfort Cancellation and Comfort Multirisk, to be taken out when you register for your trip.

Other offers include Mondial Assistance, your own insurance company or Club Alpin Français. Check that your trekking activity is covered.
Make sure your insurance covers all medical expenses in the event of an accident.
You must make sure that you are covered for mountain rescue costs. If this is the case, you must provide us with the following information before you set off on your trek:
- a certificate from the insurance company covering mountain rescue costs.
- the contract number and telephone number of the assistance center
Beware of restrictive clauses in certain insurance policies (particularly those linked to Visa Premier, Gold or other cards), such as mountain insurance limited to snow activities, or altitude sickness not recognized as an illness requiring repatriation, which will be refused.

The climate is much the same as in the French Alps: summer days are hot and temperatures drop considerably at night.

Meals are taken in the morning and evening at our inn. Picnics are prepared by the accommodation.

We’ll be staying in a comfortable family-run inn in the small village of Niederthai. A wellness area is available. Accommodation is included in a double room.
For those wishing to stay in a single room, a single supplement of €70 will be charged.
